What do you do?

I’m an independent graphic designer and creative director, which means I get to work directly with clients to create visual brands that people actually want to know and love. I love helping businesses tell their story visually—whether they’re starting completely from scratch or looking for a fresh take on a legacy brand. People come to me knowing that design isn’t just decoration—it’s a strategic tool that shapes how they present themselves and connect with their audience. I get to think about everything from typography and color to packaging and digital presence, making sure each piece of their brand feels intentional and resonates with the right people. Every project is different, and that’s part of what makes it so exciting!

How do you stand out in your field?

I try to bring the creative world down to earth and make it approachable—not just for clients, but for peers who are newer to the industry as well. Art and design can feel intimidating or “untouchable” to people who aren’t in it day-to-day, or who are just starting their careers. I want to pass along the generosity I’ve received over the years by creating a welcoming space where people can learn, grow, and feel confident in their work.

Making design approachable, fun, and human, that’s what I hope sets me apart.

What’s your style, perspective, or taste?

I’m all about bright, fun, and friendly design that’s heavy on typography. Type-driven projects are my jam—they give me the chance to combine personality with strategy, which is really satisfying. I love work that feels alive and playful, that communicates without needing a million words, and that makes people smile. Some of my favorite projects lean into warm, vibrant colors and illustration, paired with clean, bold type. The kind of work that feels approachable, modern, and a little unexpected.

We all have multiple skills or work in various industries—what’s one you wish you could focus on more?

Recently, I took a sign-painting class, and I’m itching to make more time for work outside the computer. There’s something so tactile and freeing about painting letters by hand, mixing colors, and really getting into the physical act of making. I know if I dedicate time to it, I could create some really rad stuff. For now, I’m soaking up slow summer nights, but when winter rolls around, I have a feeling I’ll dive back in with renewed energy. It’s a nice reminder that creativity doesn’t always have to live on a screen.

Last one! How do you “stay creative”?

I’ve learned the hard way that sometimes, the best way to stay creative is to step away. When I’m completely out of steam, taking a break—really taking it—can make all the difference. I try to schedule those breaks into my calendar so they actually happen, rather than just hoping I’ll “find time.” Other times, I power through, but even then, I make a mental note to pause and recharge later. Creativity isn’t a switch that’s always on—it’s more like a muscle. Treat it well, give it space, and it’ll show up when you need it most.
